Bell was a top 100 fantasy player last year and he'll be on the cusp again this year. I'm projecting a slight decrease across the board because it looks like rookie DJ Strawberry is going to steal some of his minutes, but Raja will still make plenty of threes.

Parker is a valuable fantasy player because he's able to knock down threes while posting solid shooting %'s. For example, he had a 6-game stretch in April where he nailed 26 threes on 52.8% FG shooting and 95.5% FT shooting.

Miller's '06-07 season was downright awful by his standards. A former top 20 fantasy pick, he didn't even crack the top 120 last season. Miller lost weight over the summer and hopes to bounce back in a big way in '07-08. He's no longer a top tier center, but he'll still help out fantasy teams with solid production across the board.

Darko's '06-07 season was pretty solid, but we're still expecting more from the former #2 overall pick. At just 22 years old, he still has plenty of time to shut his critics up. His fantasy value comes from his blocks: he averaged 3.51 rejections per 48 minutes.

The rookie big man from Florida will play a key role for Atlanta this year, and he should be a very solid contributor for fantasy teams. He'll be a double-double machine eventually, and will also help you out in blocks and FG%.

At first glance, Haslem's '06-07 season was much like the 2 seasons prior. However, there was one area where his fantasy value took a big hit: FT%. After shooting over 78% from the line in the 2 seaons prior, his FT% plummeted to 68% last year. If he can get that back up to 75%, Haslem will be a valuable fantasy player once again.

Kaman was a big disappointment in '06-07. His numbers declined in almost every category and he just didn't look the same as the year before. Was '05-06 just a contract year fluke? We'll find out this year, because if the Clippers want to win, Kaman will have to come up big.

Last January, Bynum flashed his fantasy potential. In 15 games, he averaged 28.7 minutes, 10.7 points, 9.0 boards, and 2.3 blocks on 56.1% FG shooting. Amazingly, Bynum doesn't even turn 20 until 3 days before opening night. The Lakers have several other big men that they can go to, but if Bynum gets the minutes, he'll be a solid #2 fantasy center this year.

Dunleavy is a very average fantasy player, but he won't really hurt you in any category. His injury rating is a solid 4.0 because he's only missed a total of 11 games in 5 seasons, but his misc. value is low because he has little upside and as a Warriors fan, he still disgusts me.

New coach Rick Adelman has said that Rafer is a "perfect fit" for his system, but he still has a lot of competition for minutes in Houston. As such, I'm projecting a decrease across the board. If you feel like gambling on Skip to My Lou he could pay dividends, but be prepared to take a hit in FG%.

Tinsley is a very unreliable fantasy player. First of all, he's missed an average of 26 games per season over the last 5 years. His stats have also been all over the place, so he's a hard player to project. That being said, he's capable of putting up big numbers in assists, steals, and threes. Just make sure you have a couple reliable guards ahead of him.

The crafty vet is no longer an elite fantasy player, but he'll still help out in several cats. Mobley has played in 78+ games in 3 of the past 4 seasons, so he's fairly dependable and will look to score more with Elton Brand out of the lineup.

Krstic was having a great season before it was ended prematurely due to a knee injury. He is a very effective scorer who can also help out in boards and blocks, but you don't want to draft him to early unless you're confident that he's back to being 100%.

Over his last 50 games, he averaged 10.9 points, 9.4 boards, and .9 blocks on 54.5% FG shooting and 80% FT shooting. SOLID. However, Robert Swift is back from injury and could steal some minutes away from Nick this year. |

Frye put up solid stats in his rookie year, but took a step back in '06-07. With Greg Oden out for the season, Frye will be asked to step up and play big minutes for Portland. The change of scenery should help his fantasy value, so expect an improvement across the board. Frye is especially valuable because he's a big man who can shoot over 80% from the line.

Charlie V. had a disappointing '06-07 season that ended prematurely for shoulder surgery. With the Bucks drafting Yi and Bobby Simmons back from injury, Villanueva will have to hit the glass hard If he wants to play in '07-08. I'm projecting solid increases in points, rebounds, and blocks.

Scola has been one of the top power players in Europe for quite some time, and now we finally get to see him in the NBA. He averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 boards in the recent FIBA Americas tournament, and he didn't back down to anyone on Team USA. Scola should fit in well with Yao Ming, and help out fantasy teams in points, rebounds, and FG%.

Murphy doesn't block a lot of shots, but he's a center who can make threes. One area where fantasy owners would like to see improvement is on the glass. After averaging 10+ boards in 3 of the 4 seasons prior, Murphy grabbed only 6.1 last year. I'm projecting a solid increase in point, rebounds, and FT%.

Joining the Suns should provide Hill with a nice fantasy boost. His assists will rise since he has more weapons to pass to and word out of Phoenix is that Hill will be asked to shoot more threes this year. The vet has made a total of just 9 threes the past 6 years, but he made 34 (.5 per game) way back in '99-00. Sure enough, Hill has hit a three in each of his team's 3 preseason games thus far. Just remember that he hasn't played in 75+ games in a season since '97-98.

Thomas is going to get a chance to play big minutes for the Clippers this year. I'm not a big fan of his game, but he's worth owning because he makes so many threes. One major variable is his FT%: it's fluctuated from 61% to 81% throughout his career.

Hughes had a very poor '06-07 season, as evidenced by his awful shooting %'s. After swiping 2.9 steals in '04-05, he managed only 1.3 last year. Hughes has a lot of upside potential, but he's played in 75+ games just once in his 9 year career.

Perkins played hurt for most of last season and his stats suffered. I'm projecting a nice bounceback season for Perk. He's going to get a ton of easy buckets and will be able to focus on rebounding and blocking shots while learning something new from KG every day. Perkins will be a solid #2 center this year.

While Etan Thomas' heart surgery is a very sad story, it also opens things up for Haywood. The last time Haywood got major minutes was in '04-05, when he scored 9.4 points, grabbed 6.9 boards, and blocked 1.7 shots per game, which made him a top 120 fantasy player.
